Today, at the headquarters of the Emergency Management Agency-MPBAP, the General Director Mr. Fadil KODRA signed cooperation agreement with Japanese JICA.

The director and responsible officials of AME, Mr. Kodra received in a meeting the representative JICA Advisor for the Ministry of European Integration in the Government of Kosovo, Mr. Takahiko Makino, on the occasion of the signing of the cooperation agreement in the technical assistance program for the NFFIS Early Warning System for Mountain Fire and the Ecosystem Based Solutions for the reduction of risks from Landslides and Strong Winds ECO DRR.
On this occasion, both representatives agreed that this signing act is only the initiative of cooperation, which is expected to be strengthened and materialized in the coming period. The program from the agreement in question is expected to start after the approval by the governments of both countries, while the implementation phase is expected to start at the end of this year.
Through the implementation of the program, Kosovo will benefit from a necessary technical asset for the identification and early warning of mountain fires, also at points identified by the avalanche and landslide risk assessment process, solution-based treatment measures will be taken. ecological for their reduction and prevention ECO DRR.
In this program are closely related other government institutions and agencies such as: MAFRD - Kosovo Forest Agency, MESP-KEPA - Kosovo Hydro Meteorological Institute, MPL - Kosovo Municipalities, Kosovo Cadastral Agency and other central and local institutions.
