Emergency Management Agency Implements Next Activity Within the Erasmus+ GROWTH Project
Pristina, April 25th, 2025
As part of its ongoing efforts to implement activities within the Erasmus+ GROWTH project, the Emergency Management Agency (EMA), in cooperation with the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, organized the first major event with broad participation from all public safety institutions in Kosovo.
The event featured active participation from representatives of public safety institutions, project leaders from the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), Greece, and the project partner from the Volunteer Firefighting Unit of Sveti Nikole from North Macedonia.
Conducted jointly by the EMA and the Academy, the event addressed key topics and the progress made in the implementation of the GROWTH project, which began in January 2023 and is scheduled to conclude in December 2025.
Project leaders from Greece and North Macedonia expressed their appreciation for the organization and the engagement of participants, highlighting the potential for future joint project applications. These initiatives are expected to significantly contribute to the growth and development of capacities for scientific analysis of natural and human-caused phenomena—enhancing the competence and knowledge of first responders in dealing with emergencies and disasters.
The evolving landscape of security and the impact of climate change place public institutions before new challenges, which first require preventive approaches—identifying risks through knowledge and strengthening institutional capacity to respond effectively.
The activity was positively evaluated by all relevant attendees, who emphasized the importance of prioritizing the intensification of development processes. The guidance provided through such initiatives is expected to benefit all stakeholders within the Protection, Rescue, and Relief Structures of the Republic of Kosovo and beyond.
