The Emergency Management Agency warns on the following.
As a result of the rising temperatures and the expected fire risks, the Agency specifically warns citizens, owners and households:
- not to burn stubbles, since the fires get out of control and the damage is irreparable,
- to keep and adequately store hazardous and easily-flammable substances, and,
- to adequately store explosive materials.
In order to ensure a certain level of fire safety, and to avoid possible consequences, we APPEAL on the possible consequences of rising temperatures, where the risk of fire outbreak also increases.
The Law on Fire Protection prohibits the burning of crops / stubble, garbage and plant residues.
The lighting of fire in the forest and near the forest is prohibited, except in certain places, clearly marked and under strict supervision of the people who are lighting it, and the recovery of the surface where the fire was lit is mandatory.
The person who causes a fire will be obliged to compensate the damage – reimburse the Fire and Rescue unit for the response costs, as well as bear the consequences in accordance with the Law on Fire Protection and the provisions of other applicable laws.
Moreover, the households and land owners will lose the right to agricultural subsidy funds for a certain period if it is proven that they have burned crop residues.
